Our Dog turns Ten

Ten years ago, our daughter Ashley kept bugging us to get a dog. She had done her research and decided she wanted a Westie. We traveled to Maryland on a side trip to bring the dog home, however, Ashley's research didn't indicate that a Westie is a wiry little dog that resembles a goat when it's young. She was quite surprised and expected the cute dog with the smooth white long hair of a more mature dog. Ashley was in tears, and we asked her not to judge her dog by its looks (she was eyeing a little fluffy lapdog because he was soft and cute) Long story short, we brought our little (goat)... I mean dog home and "Gabby" has been a true part of our family now for ten years. Ashley has thanked us many times on the lesson she learned that day, not to judge a dog...(someone) by looks alone, but what is inside. Gabby has since grown into the cute dog Ashley wanted, and much more. It's amazing what we learn from our pets. Happy birthday "Gabby"
