Sisters

Cambra; (the older of the two sisters featured) was a great asset in helping with her younger sibling's portrait. She helped keep our lighting equipt. in place while we focused our attention on her sister. To complete the session, we spent a few moments with Cambra whom we've photographed every halloween for the past few years. This time however, it was nice to see her without her costume and makeup....We do look forward to seeing you again this Halloween.

Sunset Engagement

A beautiful summer evening created a perfect backdrop for Gayle and JW as they celebrated their engagement on Buggs Island Lake in southern Virginia. A distant summer storm created a bank of clouds that enhanced the setting beyond expectations. This image completes a busy week for Wanda and I. We traveled to Charlottesville; University of Virginia , areas of Richmond, VA and North Carolina to create images for our clients. Thank you Gayle and JW for putting a perfect ending to a great week. Oh...Saturday is fast approaching...Back to it!

An Evening to Remember

The Commonwealth Club in Richmond, VA hosted a spectacular evening for Catherine and Stanley Saturday night. After their marriage at St. Stephen's Church, wedding party and guests danced to the music by "The Mustangs" from Washington, DC. Rose petals and sparklers illuminated the couples departure during the wee hours of Sunday morning. Now the couple will enjoy a trip to Hawaii! Enjoy your honeymoon...

Catherine and Stanley

This weekend, Catherine and Stanley will exchange their vows to a host of friends and family at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Richmond. A reception at the Commonwealth Club will follow to celebrate the day with dinner and dancing. This all began when Stanley proposed to Catherine on the steps of the State Capital Building in Richmond. To commemorate this beginning, we photographed the couple where it all began; on the steps of the Capital. We look forward to being part of the celebration this weekend. Congratulations Catherine and Stanley!

Class of 2010

Emily is a rising senior "Class of 2010" Busy to say the least, her interests include playing the guitar, country music, riding horses and keeping her red Chevrolet pickup truck shining. Her new friend, Gabe is a beautiful lab puppy who seems to be a natural in front of the camera... Just like Emily.

Brothers

A photograph tells a story even when a facial expression is not part of the image. I'm reminded of Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer as I see these two young boys (twins) enjoying the hot days of summer in bare feet and full of imagination and adventure. My favorite element of the entire scene however is the effortless bond of their hands as they make their way down the path. (We can view this scene as a metaphor for their life ahead, helping each other on their road of life.} Be home before supper...

Trees in black and white

Buggs Island Lake is a beautiful and large body of water straddling the North Carolina/Virginia border. This photograph of the tree line at Rudds Creek near Clarksville, VA was taken shortly before sunset on the first day of July. The image originally captured in RAW was converted to b/w for a more ethereal depiction of the scene. The image is unretouched with the exception of the black/white conversion.
